Sample Lesson Plans

The following two lesson plans are good samples of what is expected. There will always be an introduction to the topic, a body activity and a conclusion. This is going to vary depending on what kind of activity teachers will be using to teach the subject matter. Each lesson plan should describe the individual roles each high school teacher will be doing during every portion of the lesson. For example, during the introduction the assistant teacher should be...
The one element that is not present on these sample lesson plans that must be present on all future lesson plans is a timeline. Each group has 18 minutes to teach their lesson. It is required that students plan out and designate how much time is to be spent on each portion of the lesson.
Overall, the deciding factor as to if your lesson plan is completed with quality, is if a stranger can pick up your lesson plan and be able to successfully conduct the plan and have all of the materials readily available. If you have handouts or visuals, they should be attached to the lesson plan. In fact, I would suggest you highlight the main points of the handout on a copy so the teacher can have quick assess to the info while teaching. In the same light, I would suggest having the teacher go through what ever steps he or she is asking the students to do in advance so they can have a sample to show students. This is also a great why to identify or trouble shoot any missing elements.
Please let me know if you have any questions. As a teacher of 17 years, I can be a good resource for groups of students who would like help designing a lesson. Please ask sooner than later and do not procrastinate on this step. It is the number one determinant of success in this project.
There are five model lesson plans I have highlighted in the videos below. Both of the videos are the same. I have one uploaded directly to the blog and the other via youtube.
